All good days come to an end

More about those night vision binoculars

Just last night dad I were in the woods.  He gave me a call bout lunch time telling me that he was already in deer hunting country and wanted to know if I could hood up with em.  Not always, but when I can I take Friday afternoon off, so that's just what I did.  I headed out to his hunting spot getting there about 2 hours later.

I helped him clear some more brush giving him a better view from his stand of the surrounding areas.  We stayed out there til way after sun set.    Shortly after the sun went down he got his night owl pro binoculars out.  I had mine in my truck so I got mine out too.

These binoculars are just awesome.  Using star light and moonlight night vision sucking in as much light as possible giving us a great view of the surrounding wild life.  These night vision binoculars are truly fantastic.  We were able to see bats, an owl and 2 wild pigs.

We must've watched those pigs for a good 20 minutes before they wondered on off.  During that time we heard an owl and about 20 minutes after we spotted the pigs, dad found that owl.  The owl was a good 100 yard across a clearing from where we were up in a tree.

I even saw some bats flicker into my view, but none were ever still long enough though to get a good look at them.

The Night Owl Pro Nexgen Night Vision Binocular (5x)

Here's what others say about them
1. Got these to see dozens of deer crossing our property at night in southern Indiana. Both my wife and I love them. Focus is best with minor adjustments.
2. I purchased these for my husband for Christmas. He loves them! They are very easy to set up and the range is really good for the price. The only drawback on them is the battery price.
3. He sits on the porch at our cabin at night and even in the pitch black, he can see all the wildlife around and the distance
Is great

Any time you go to purchase night vision equipment, you'll see its pretty pricey.  Night vision can be very expensive (especially military night vision) but these are more affordable night vision binoculars.  Especially if you buy on line.

Not these Night Owl Pro Nexgen Night Vision Binoculars though, in comparison to other night vision products.  And by the way, I got mine for about $100 cheaper at amazon than what I paid for dad's at one of the outdoor chain stores.

These thermal binoculars just rock!  Having night sight gives a completely different perspective of the woods.  I love my night binoculars.

Night Vision goodness.  I don't know why people sometimes write knight vision.  I guess knight vision would be what a knight sees.

Meadow just off the trail

I don't think there's any fish in there.  There was a side trail that we took for about a 1/2 mile that took us down to this meadow.  There was a hawk there in one of the trees to the right but it flew off before I could take its picture.

Hiking with my new boots

Did a short 6 mile hike today with my new boots and man am I happy with my purchase! Even though it was 6 miles the hike was somewhat strenuous with a 600 foot change en elevation on that trail. My son went with me. We didn't see any deer but did see some tracks and we did see a hawk. I love being in the woods this time of year and cannot wait for it to get colder.

I was so happy about how those boots felt on me that I couldn't quit talking about them. I kept telling my son that they were the best hiking boots for this or the best boots for that. He started making fun of me. But man, do they feel great.

I swear, I can tell that they are going to be the best boots for fall when I'm hiking or hunting, the best boots for winter when I'm out in the cold because they're insulated pretty good. In November, I'm going elk hunting and know that they will be the best elk hunting boots that I have ever worn. They aren't too cheap but they are worth every penny.

I did test out how water proof the are by stepping into a stream where the water came up to the bottom laces. No water got in at all.

Here's a link to my new boots. Waterproof and everything.

Dad's Night Vision Binoculars

Night Owl Pro Nexgen Night Vision Binocular (5x)

Dad is constantly in the woods.  It seems that if he didn't have to work and if he didn't have a wife, he would just live in the woods.  His favorite time of the year is fall cause that's deer hunting season.  This past father's day, I picked him up some night vision binoculars from that big retail store Bass Proshop.  He was like a kid with a new toy.

At the end of this summer, he's been in and out of the woods a lot getting ready of course for deer season.  One night, he was still there about an hour after sunset wrapping up some of his prep work, clearing brush and plowing feed plots among other things.  Before leaving though, he climbed up in his stand to try those binoculars out.  He told me that it was just like day time.  He could see everything.  He even spied on an owl about 250 yards across a ravine from his stand.

I payed a little over $500 for his binoculars but then later bought some myself off amazon for almost $100 cheaper.  That's why I'm posting this so that you too can take advanage of these things.

Reviews:

I was blown away at the hundreds of yards of view with these night vision binoculars! Unmatched, as I also own night vision monocular or single sight IR which can barely see 10 feet! I live next to a very large cranberry bog and watched a cayote, at 300 yards in complete darkness, walk along the far bank. Amazing

These binoculars really work well. i had purchased a monocular, with little magnification, and was displeased (returned it). this has enough magnification, but not too much (otherwise your field of view becomes very small and hard to focus). the "high beam" infrared is also real nice. we've been watching nocturnal animals from our second story window with clarity and ease.

A few years ago, dad had bought some eyeclops night vision goggles for getting out of the woods when it was already dark.  Around the same time, my sister had bought what she says was the best night vision camcorder ever.  These binoculars are over the top when comparing the quality of these night owl night vision binoculars with those other night vision products.

These binoculars allow you to enjoy another side of the outdoors that you normally don't get to see.  Dad will be making use of these for years to come.  After dad constantly talking about them, I picked me up some too.  I had gotten Dad's at a local hunting and outdoors store for a little more that $500 (you can find thermal goggles for sale at various hunting & fishing outdoors stores) but I got mine off amazon where they were cheaper.
